Project Night Night

The nightly routine of shuffling your kid to the bathtub, forcing them into pajamas and praying they fall asleep after the 3rd bed time story is taken for granted by too many parents. I myself fall victim and take this precious time for granted. Not every child has this sense of security. Whether they lack a bed, food to fill their bellies or even just a roof over their head, there are way too many kids missing out on the simple stuff. And it is happening in your city, all across America.

Project Night Night | Hello World Paper Co.

Did you know that 1 in 30 children will face homelessness sometime this year? What if you could help add just a little stability to a child’s life by giving them a little more predicable of a nightly routine?

To ease the anxiety associated with shelter living, Project Night Night distributes Night Night Packages to homeless children ages 0-10. Each Night Night Package includes an age-appropriate book, a baby blanket, which can be cuddled, and a stuffed animal, which can become a cherished friend.  Finding comfort is vitally important for children in order to feel secure, loved, and valued – even in the midst of the upheaval and uncertainty attendant to homelessness.

Project Night Night has had a huge impact:

  • 25,000 homeless children receive Night Night Packages each year.
  • 10,000 volunteers connect with and improve their communities annually.
  • 250,000 children's books donated since 2005.
  • Tens of thousands of bad dreams vanquished.

It’s time to make a difference. We can’t sit back and see these kids missing out on such important parts of their development. Because I want to see change, I will be donating 10 percent of all profits from Hello World Paper Co. to Project Night Night during the month of January. Our goal this month is to sponsor 25+ Night Night Bags for Homeless children.

Action Against Hunger

While the rest of us are literally chowing down at the Thanksgiving dinner table with friends and family, stuffing ourselves completely silly, and then topping it off with a slice of pie (or two or three…pumpkin, pecan and cherry anyone???) don’t forget that there a people in this world who would think the meal you ate was not only decadent, but reserved for gods or royalty. Because food should NOT be a luxury, I want to call attention to Action For Hunger and their good work helping to fill hungry tummies across the globe. There isn’t a more perfect time to be giving, than the holiday season.

Action Against Hunger | Hello World Paper Co,

Did you know that malnutrition claims the lives of a MILLION children each year? A MILLION. That is a seriously scary number considering that malnutrition is totally predicable, preventable, treatable and affordable.

Action Against Hunger works in 45 countries in four main program areas: nutrition, wash, food security, and emergency response to provide food, clean water, sanitation, and crisis assistance.

Check out these amazing accomplishments:

  • Responded to 51 crisis situations in 3 years
  • Provided 5,550+ humanitarian experts
  • Helped 2 million people regain economic self-sufficiency
  • Treated 3.5 million people for malnutrition and illness

Just $45 can save a child's life!

Now, I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer or rain on your Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade….but seriously, we simply cannot continue to be gluttons while others are literally starving. Because I want to live in a world where there is food on the table for everyone, I am pledging to donate 10 percent of profits from Hello World Paper Co. to Action Against Hunger during the month of November. If you want to help too, please visit

This season I am truly blessed to have you as a customer, to have a thriving business, and to have abundance and opportunity to give back.

Top 10 Tips Before Your Next Move

Are you gearing up for a move? Or helping a friend move to new digs? If so, you are in need of some SMOOTH MOVES!  No…. we’re not talking about your nerdy-dance skills….we’re talking about how to bust-a-move and get all that stuff packed up, out the door and into your new place lightening fast. Because let’s face it, have you ever heard anyone say they actually like moving? Nope, never!!! It’s a giant, stressful, pain-in-the-B00-tay!!!

Top 10 Tips Before Your Next Move | Hello World Paper Co.

So here are my 10 favorite tips to make the whole ordeal a little less stressful!

  1. Pack an overnight bag with essentials – Why? Well, hello! You are going to be so tired on move day that you are not going to want to search though boxes for essentials and a change of clothes. Genius!
  2. Wrap breakables like dishes in clothing to save on bubble wrap! Who would have thought? You save some green and you are acting green by saving the landfill from mountains of discarded bubble wrap when you are unpacked.
  3. Pack glasses and stemware in clean socks. Again…why didn’t I think of this before? So obvious!
  4. Cover dresser drawers with “press-and-seal” plastic. They serve as their own self-contained moving boxes. Just press and seal like the commercial says!
  5. Use sandwich bags and a sharpie to label all the little bits of hardware that go with your furniture. Tape them back to the item. Don’t skip this step…the stuff always gets lost!
  6. The fastest way to pack a closet is to keep your clothing on the hangers and slip it in a trash bag. No rehanging clothes and dealing with a tangled up mess of hangers! Whoot!
  7. Two weeks before moving, change your address. In addition to utility bills, don’t forget about bank statements, credit card bills and magazine subscriptions. You better not miss an issue of Cat Fancy! lol
  8. Start selling items on Craigslist six weeks before and unload all that unwanted stuff.  You may even be able to make enough money to pay the movers for handling the big stuff or spring for that comfy new sofa!
  9. Generate some good mojo by having a charity organization pick up donation items one week before. You may be helping a veteran, a single mom or a kid furnishing their first apartment! How awesome is that to think about?
  10. And number 10…drum roll please……

Order a new address stamp and from Hello World! We’ve got self-inking and wood mounted stamps for your stamping pleasure! There seems to be a lot of extra mail, paperwork and bills with moving….so a new address stamp will save you time! Happy moving and happy stamping!
